Well it’s official my main bumper to bumper 3 year/60k warranty is now over. Not that it matters since I haven’t had to use it once. This 2013 Ford Fusion is by far the best car I’ve ever owned. NOTHING has ever gone wrong with it in 3 years. This is the only car I’ve ever owned that has never needed warranty repairs. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

WOW you guys get hosed on warranty limits. Really they don’t convert 60k miles to the equivalent of kilometers?

All joking aside, the Fusion is actually a pretty nice car. Friend of mine has one, and it’s great.
Other than the fact that the styling means I have conked my head a few times on the A pillar getting in and out.

Our bumper to bumper warranties are only 36k miles, it’sthe powertrain warranties that are longer. I think it’s us that are getting hosed here!

“built ford though”

That’s pretty cool that it’s been that reliable. If I were you I’d cling to that car for a long time.

We still get the 100k (60k mile) powertrain warranty. But the warranty that usually matters is the bumper to bumper since this is the one that covers everything and not just the engine and transmission.

OK I thought you were saying your powertrain was over too

I misunderstood, I thought he meant his powertrain was done.

yeah yeah I fixed it. Damn english language where 10 words sound exactly the same but are all spelled differently.

I approve of your typo.

yeah it’s been completely bulletproof. I see no reason to get rid of it now.

I’ve only bumped my head in the back. I’ve yet to smash my head in the front door jams. I guess being 5'4" has its advantages.

You guys get shafted on warranties.

Very cool. My Fusion has likewise been very solid, except a few little things like trim pieces. A great DD.

how so?
60,000km (37,500 mile)/3 year bumper to bumper
100,000km (62,500 mile)/5 year powertrain
Isn’t the states. 36,000miles/60,000 miles? if so it is pretty much the same except ours are even better.

I’m a foot taller than you. That makes a significant difference.
![]() 05/17/2016 at 10:58 |

It usually starts at 60000mi 6year with some cars getting 100000mi 10year (like my dad’s brz)
![]() 05/17/2016 at 11:03 |
|
No, it doesn’t. 99% of the cars on the road in USA have a 3 year/36000 miles bumper-to-bumper warranty.

I must be thinking powertrain then. Though I have seen 100000mi bumper to bumper.

You're excited about a car not needing repairs in the first 60km? I feel bad for you, son. Anything happens to my cars before at least 75000 miles I'd be *pissed*

Even powertrain is 5 years/60k miles for a huge majority of cars. Some Korean brands have a longer, 100K powertrain.
BTW, unless your dad paid extra when purchasing - the smooth talking dude in the finance office might have made it like a great deal to purchase - standard Subaru powertrain warranty is still 5 years/60k miles.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
POWERTRAIN COVERAGE for all models is 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Subject to the exclusions listed in this warranty, it covers the major powertrain components listed below.

I’ve always said if you have something that works, keep it. You never know if that shiny new thing is going to hold up or not.

I used to be a Mopar guy so regular trips to the dealer for warranty works wasn’t an unusual thing.
This is the first time that NOTHING has gone wrong in 3 years. Not even a burnt out interior bulb.
I know it’s nothing to write home about but when I compare this $25k car vs the ~$8k of warranty work my $60K Challenger SRT8 needed in 3 years it’s pretty fantastic.
